🌿 Cultural Note
Muktinath Temple is one of the most sacred Vishnu pilgrimage sites in Hinduism and is also revered by Tibetan Buddhists as Chumig Gyatsa. Visitors are expected to dress modestly, remove footwear before entering the temple premises, and observe silence during Pooja and Darshan rituals. The sacred flame, water spouts, and holy pond within the complex are central to the pilgrimage experience. Pilgrims often bathe in the 108 water spouts as an act of purification.
