Connecting travellers from the UK, Europe, and North America directly with Nepal's local guides, homestays, and trekking experiences.
Nepal Untrodden is a UK-based platform that connects travellers from the UK, Europe, and North America directly with Nepal-based trekking guides, licensed agencies, and homestay families. We are a marketplace, not a tour operator β every listing is created and managed by a local host, and every booking goes directly to them.
We built this platform because too many travellers arrive in Nepal and book the same routes through the same mass-market operators, missing the villages, families, and landscapes that locals know best. Nepal Untrodden is a direct-booking marketplace where independent guides, certified agencies, and homestay families can list their offerings and connect with travellers who want something genuine β a slower pace, a family meal, an off-the-map trail.
Every host is individually reviewed and approved before any listing goes live. We verify credentials, licences, and compliance with Nepal Tourism Board standards. Quality and guest safety are non-negotiable.
Day hikes to multi-week expeditions, led by locally licensed guides with deep knowledge of the terrain and communities along the way.
Stay with Nepali families in mountain villages, hill towns, and valley communities. Share meals, hear stories, and experience daily life in a way no hotel can offer.
Cooking classes, cultural tours, wildlife walks, heritage visits β all led by local experts from the community being visited.
During our current alpha phase, Nepal Untrodden charges zero commission to hosts. We believe hosts should keep the value they create. A small platform service fee is charged to travellers at checkout to cover operating costs.
All guides and porters working through the platform must be covered by personal accident insurance and paid in line with Nepal Tourism Board minimum wage standards. We actively discourage single-use plastic use on treks and encourage travellers to follow Leave No Trace principles.
We're a small team and we love hearing from travellers and potential hosts. Contact us or email support@nepaluntrodden.com.
