The Kakani Shivapuri Nagarkot Hiking is a 7-day moderate trek that loops through some of the most scenic and accessible highlands surrounding Kathmandu Valley. Beginning and ending in Kathmandu, this journey takes trekkers through lush green forests, tranquil villages, and elevated ridgelines that afford sweeping panoramic views of over 60 Himalayan peaks, including Himal Chuli, Gauri Shankar, Annapurna, Chobha Bhamare, and Manaslu, as well as four peaks of the Ganesh Himal range. The trek passes through the charming hilltop destinations of Kakani, Chisapani, Dhulikhel, and Nagarkot β each offering a unique perspective on Nepal's natural and cultural landscape. The highest point of the journey is Shivapuri Hill at 2,175 metres, reached by traversing the pristine Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, where trekkers may encounter diverse wildlife and untouched forest ecosystems. En route, a monastery between Chisapani and Shivapuri adds a spiritual dimension to the adventure. This hike is ideal for birdwatchers, nature photographers, and those seeking meaningful interaction with local communities without venturing into the high-altitude extremes of Nepal's more demanding routes. The trails wind through rhododendron forests that blaze with color during spring, while autumn delivers crystalline skies and golden foliage. Even winter walks reveal snow-dusted paths and exceptionally clear mountain views. Accommodation is provided in comfortable tea houses and lodges throughout the trek, with all standard meals included. An experienced guide and porter service ensures a smooth and enriching journey, while a guided city tour and sightseeing in Kathmandu on Day 2 adds cultural depth to the overall experience. The trek concludes with a farewell dinner featuring traditional Nepali cuisine and a cultural dance performance, making this a well-rounded introduction to Nepal's natural beauty and warm hospitality.
