🌿 Cultural Note
The Khumbu region is home to the Sherpa people, a deeply Buddhist community. Trekkers should dress modestly when visiting monasteries, remove shoes before entering religious buildings, walk clockwise around mani walls and stupas, and refrain from pointing feet toward religious icons. Asking permission before photographing locals is considered respectful. Acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche are essential and should not be skipped.
