The Annapurna Siklish Trek is a remarkable 12-day off-the-beaten-path trekking adventure through one of Nepal's most culturally rich and scenically diverse regions. Unlike the heavily trafficked Annapurna Circuit or Base Camp routes, the Siklish Trek leads adventurers through pristine traditional Gurung villages, ancient shepherd trails, and untouched primary forests that remain largely undiscovered by mainstream tourism. Starting from Pokhara, the trek heads north past the sacred Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Mountain, following a spectacular ridgeline that rewards trekkers with sweeping panoramic views of the Manaslu and Annapurna mountain ranges throughout the journey. The trail climbs through lush bamboo groves, rhododendron forests, and oak woodlands before descending into the verdant valley of Madi Khola. Along the way, trekkers spend nights in authentic villages including Bhujung, Tang Ting, and Siklish itself — a large, well-preserved Gurung settlement designated as a model eco-village by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). Siklish serves as a living showcase of traditional Gurung culture, architecture, and sustainable living, making it a highlight of the entire trek. The high-altitude sections follow ancient seasonal grazing routes used by shepherds to move their flocks above the treeline during summer months, offering a rare glimpse into the pastoral traditions of the Himalayan foothills. Accommodation is provided in comfortable teahouses and lodges along the route, with all standard meals included. An experienced guide and porter support ensure safety and ease throughout the trek. This adventure is graded moderate to strenuous and is suited for trekkers with a reasonable level of fitness and some prior hiking experience.
