The Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake is a challenging and rewarding long-distance trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal, combining two of the most celebrated trekking routes into one extraordinary journey. Starting from Bagarchhap and concluding at the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath, this trek takes adventurers through a dramatic spectrum of landscapes — from lush subtropical forests and terraced farmland to barren high-altitude terrain reminiscent of the Tibetan plateau. The centerpiece of this journey is the legendary Thorong La Pass, standing at 5,416 meters above sea level, which rewards those who summit with breathtaking panoramic views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, and the Annapurna massif. The trek also incorporates a detour to the stunning Tilicho Lake at 4,919 meters — one of the highest lakes in the world — whose vivid turquoise waters set against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks create an unforgettable visual spectacle. Trekkers pass through the culturally rich villages of the Manangi people, experiencing authentic local hospitality, traditional Tibetan-influenced architecture, and ancient monasteries along the route. An acclimatization day in Manang allows travelers to adjust to the altitude while exploring Gangapurna Lake at 3,657 meters. The journey also visits the holy Muktinath Temple at 3,800 meters, a revered site sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. Rated as difficult, this trek demands good physical fitness and mental resilience. Trekkers walk 5–7 hours per day on rugged mountain trails, gaining and losing significant elevation throughout. The trip is graded for experienced trekkers, though well-prepared beginners may also attempt it with proper planning. Accommodation is provided in comfortable teahouses along the trail, with full-board meals including a diverse menu of Nepali and continental cuisine. The best seasons to attempt this trek are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when weather conditions are most stable and mountain views are at their clearest.
